Pharmacologic Category
Local Anesthetics. (ATC-Code: A01AD02; G02CC03; M01AX07; M01AX07; M02AA05).
Mechanism of action
Reduces local pain and inflammation. Does not interfere with arachidonic acid metabolism.
Therapeutic use
Symptomatic treatment of pain associated with acute pharyngitis. Treatment of pain associated with radiation-induced oropharyngeal mucositis.
Pregnancy and lactiation implications
Use only when potential benefit outweighs possible risk to the fetus. Use with caution during lactation.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to benzydamine or any component of the formulation.
Warnings and precautions
May cause local irritation and/or burning sensation in altered mucosal integrity. Use with caution in renal impairment.
