Pharmacologic Category
Vitamins; Vitamin B Complex. (ATC-Code: A11HA04).
Mechanism of action
Component of flavoprotein enzymes which work together, and are necessary for normal tissue respiration. Also needed for activation of pyridoxine and conversion of tryptophan to niacin.
Therapeutic use
Prevention of riboflavin deficiency and treatment of ariboflavinosis.
Pregnancy and lactiation implications
Use with caution during pregnancy. Compatible with breast-feeding.
