Pharmacologic Category
Anti-infective Agents, Anthelmintics. (ATC-Code: P02CA01).
Mechanism of action
Selectively and irreversibly blocks uptake of glucose and other nutrients in susceptible adult intestine-dwelling helminths.
Therapeutic use
Treatment of pinworms (Enterobius vermicularis), whipworms (Trichuris trichiura), roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides), and hookworms (Ancylostoma duodenale).
Pregnancy and lactiation implications
Use during pregnancy, especially during 1^st^ trimester, only when potential benefits justify possible risks to fetus. Use with caution in nursing women.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to mebendazole or any component of the formulation.
Warnings and precautions
Bone marrow suppression (neutropenia and agranulocytosis) and/or thrombocytopenia reported with high doses and prolonged use. Not effective for hydatid disease.
