Mechanism of action

Passive immunity toward tetanus.

Therapeutic use

Prophylaxis against tetanus following injury in patients where immunization status is unknown or uncertain.

Pregnancy and lactiation implications

Animal reproduction studies not conducted to date.

Unlabeled use


Warnings and precautions

Hypersensitivity and anaphylactic reactions can occur. Use with caution in isolated immunoglobulin A deficiency, or history of systemic hypersensitivity to human immunoglobulins; also in thrombocytopenia or coagulation disorders (I.M. injections may be contraindicated). Product of human plasma (may potentially contain infectious agents which could transmit disease). Not for intravenous administration.
